The Best Short Haircut for Your Face Shape

Michelle Williams
Oval-shaped faces can pull off just about any look -- especially one that's as bold as Williams' pixie. "The short fringe draws attention to all your features," says Rocky Vitelli, Farouk System's international educator. "This cut accentuates Williams' big eyes, cheekbones, and full lips, so it brings out her beauty completely. There's nothing you're going to hide and not hide with this cut -- everything is out." Smith adds, "The cut is fitted to her head shape with just a little volume, which works for her, because of her oval face shape.

Ginnifer Goodwin
For round faces, the goal is to make it more elongated by providing height at the crown, which Goodwin does here with the extreme teased texture. "The back is almost a barbershop boycut, which I love," says Smith. "A girl has to have so much style and confidence to wear a barbershop haircut -- it's definitely not for everybody.

Cameron Diaz

Since Cameron Diaz isn't a cutesy, 20-something anymore, Smith says this choppy cut gives her a modern sophistication. \"The heavy layers and the long fringe in the front keeps it from being a boring bob,\" says Smith. \"The side-swept bangs narrow the width of the face, bringing attention to the eyes, which are everybody's most beautiful feature. And because Diaz's length is just barely past her chin, it shows off her pretty long neck, which also helps elongate her face. If her cut were jaw length, it would make her face look more square.
